Pioneer Abstract and Title Company of Muskogee



1905 - Pioneer was incorporated
1919-06-10 Muskogee Pioneer Abstract and Trust Co. Charterer canceled. Reinstated on 9-20-29
1987-02-09 Muskogee Pioneer Savings and Trust Co. Closed by order of the commissioner and charter was sold to Nathan’s Southwestern Trustee Co.
The sale of the last of the assets of the failed Pioneer Savings and Trust Co. was approved Wednesday, paving the way for a final distribution to former depositors of the uninsured firm.
The Oklahoma Banking Board approved an application to operate a trust company, which solidified the sale of Pioneer's charter to Nathans South Western Trustee Co., a subsidiary of the Australian firm Nathans Ltd., which is involved in merchant banking.
A.J. "Tony" DiGeronimo, of Tulsa. DiGeronimo, who in 1986 was president and chief executive officer of Victor Federal, is accused by Victor Federal attorneys of being "engaged in a series of fraudulent and improper loans which were intended to, and which did, defraud Victor." DiGeronimo is also a former president and chief executive officer of Pioneer Savings and Trust Co. and former director of Town & Country Bank in Tulsa. His whereabouts, according to court records, are unknown.
George Shipman, of Cleveland, Okla., Shipman, a former owner of North Side State Bank and one-time chairman of the failed Pioneer Savings and Trust Co., has been accused by FSLIC of a conspiracy to defraud Victor Federal and Victor Savings, as well as other unnamed thrifts.
1997-06-09 Oklahoma City - Nathan's Southwestern Trustee Co. Name changed to Southern Plains Trust Company, Oklahoma City. On this same day, the name was changed again to AmeriTrust Corporation and charter was relocated to Tulsa
